# ratelimit_namespace_already_exists

> A rate limit namespace with that name already exists or was deleted in the workspace.

<Danger>`err:unkey:data:ratelimit_namespace_already_exists`</Danger>

`ratelimit.createNamespace` named a namespace that already exists or was deleted in your workspace, so it didn't create one. You get HTTP 409.

## Likely causes

* You already created this namespace, or `ratelimit.limit` created it the first time a root key that can create namespaces used the name.
* A namespace with this name was deleted. A deleted name can't be reused.

## How to fix

1. Reuse the existing namespace. Find it with `ratelimit.listNamespaces`.
2. Or choose another name. Names are case-sensitive, so `Email` and `email` are different namespaces.
